The difference is in the manufactures who are able to reduce the cloudiness while still maintaining a High IR rejection.

 

Low angle haze in window film refers to a type of visual distortion that becomes noticeable when you look through the film at a shallow (low) angle—such as from the side, rather than straight on.

Here's what it means:

  • "Haze" is the scattering of light as it passes through the film, which can create a cloudy or blurry appearance.

  • "Low angle" means the distortion is more visible when you're not looking directly through the window, but rather at an angle—like when you're driving and looking through the rear or side windows at dusk or dawn.

Why it matters:

  • Aesthetic impact: It can make the glass look foggy or hazy at certain times of day or lighting conditions.

  • Safety concern: It can slightly reduce visibility, especially at night when glare from headlights hits the glass at a low angle.

  • Film quality indicator: High-quality ceramic and optical-grade films tend to have very low haze, even at low angles, while cheaper films—especially dyed or metallic ones—may show more haze.

When it's noticeable:

  • During sunrise or sunset.

  • Under streetlights or headlights at night.

  • When looking across the film rather than directly through it.
