Window tint course Edmonton - student heat shrinking rear window film in a tint bay

Looking for a window tint course in Edmonton? Tint Academy's next Edmonton class is a 2-day, hands-on Window Tint Certification on November 7–8, 2026 (9:00 AM–5:00 PM both days) at Buff N Bling Auto Spa, 9208 27 Ave NW, Edmonton. Tuition is $1,299 CAD, with a limited $1,097 CAD Early-Bird full-pay price when you contact the team first. You keep a professional tool kit and a 100 ft. roll of ceramic film, and you leave with your certification.

Below you'll find the class details, what you'll practise each day, what it costs, the Alberta tint rules every new installer needs to know, and how to book. If you're in St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Leduc or anywhere in the Edmonton region and want to learn window tinting this fall, this is the closest upcoming class.

Edmonton Window Tint Certification: Class Details

  • Dates: Saturday–Sunday, November 7–8, 2026

  • Installation drills

Across both days you'll also cover glass cleaning and vehicle prep, film handling, measuring and hand cutting, heat shrinking, bottom-loading, contamination prevention, edge finishing and how to avoid bubbles and other common mistakes.

Watch: The H Pattern for Shrinking a Rear Window

The rear window is the part most new tinters worry about, and it's a big focus of Day 2. In this short clip, Tint Academy explains the H pattern: lines across and down the centre of the film, reinforced with the hard card, to create four quadrants that you shrink one at a time.

Alberta Window Tint Laws Every New Installer Should Know

Alberta is stricter than many US states, so know the rules before you quote a customer. Under section 70 of Alberta's Vehicle Equipment Regulation:

  • No film or other material may be applied to the windshield or to the side windows beside or forward of the driver.
  • The rear window may only be covered if the vehicle has outside mirrors on both the left and right sides.
  • Film must not reflect headlights or sunlight into the eyes of other drivers.

Drivers with certain medical conditions can apply for a vehicle window tint exemption from the Government of Alberta. In practice, most Alberta tint work is on rear side windows and rear windows, which is exactly what you'll spend much of Day 2 practising. This is general information, not legal advice; always check the current regulation.

Tip: Don't Skip the Wet Shrink

Fingers in the film are one of the most common rear window problems. This short clip shows a step Tint Academy stresses in its courses: lift the film, spray underneath, spread it back out and push out the big water pockets, repeating once or twice if fingers are still there.

Want PPF Too? Or Prefer Calgary?

If you'd like to add paint protection film, the store also lists a PPF class in Edmonton on November 9–10, 2026, right after the tint weekend. Contact the team for PPF tuition and availability. If November 7–8 doesn't work, the next Alberta window tint class is in Calgary on November 21–22, 2026 at C3 Auto, 4905 30 St SE #1101, Calgary, with the same tuition and inclusions.
