Why Learn Window Tinting in Nassau?
The Bahamas has strong sun all year, so a lot of drivers and property owners want film for heat, glare, and UV. Having a skilled installer close by matters. Until recently, most Bahamians who wanted real training had to book flights, hotels, and time off to take a course in Florida. Tint Academy ran its first sold-out certification course in Nassau in October 2026. The next Bahamas class will bring the same two-day program back to the island. Here is why the last Bahamas class sold out and how to get on the list for the next one.
Taking the course locally means you train on the vehicles you will actually see in your bay. You also avoid travel costs, and you can be booking customers the week after class.
Hear From a Student Who Took the Nassau Course
In this video, Terry explains why he flew from Freeport to Nassau for the two-day course. He owns an auto sales and accessories business and is adding tinting. He talks about what he learned, how confident he felt afterward, and that he already had customers booked for the following week.
What You Will Learn: Day-by-Day Curriculum
The course goes from basic theory to full-vehicle installs. The goal is a repeatable system for tinting a full vehicle in about 90 minutes to two hours. You will also learn three different installation methods, so you can choose the one that fits each car.
Day 1: Fundamentals, Side Windows and Tint Removal
- Window film theory and working with customers
- Hands-on drills for cutting and handling film
- Framed roll-down windows (two-stage install)
- Quarter windows
- Frameless roll-down windows
- Tint removal
- Sun strips and banners
- Marketing your new tint business
Day 2: Rear Windows, Trucks and Getting Booked
- Review of roll-down and quarter windows
- Hatchback rear windows
- Sedan rear windows
- Rear window tint removal
- Trucks
- Plotter overview
- Residential window film tutorial
- Marketing: booking appointments for your first week
Rear Windows and Heat Shrinking
For most new tinters, shrinking film to fit a curved rear window is the hardest skill. In this tutorial, Adam compares a battery-powered heat gun with a corded one for shrinking film. Then he shrinks and installs Scorpion Carbon Plus film on a rear window step by step. On Day 2, you will practice this with an instructor beside you.
What Is Included in Your Tuition
- Two days of hands-on training in a small classroom, about 80% practical
- Cleaning and prep, hand cutting, and installs on cars, trucks, and SUVs, plus an intro to residential film
- A full advanced package with tools and a 100 ft roll of ceramic tint, so you can start practicing and taking jobs right away
- Marketing training on how to land mobile, shop, and dealership work
- Access to the online student support group, your instructors, and Tint Academy's learning modules
- Free observation slots at future Tint Academy courses, so you can come back and sharpen your skills
Window Tint Rules in the Bahamas: What Installers Should Know
As a Bahamas tinter, you need to know the law your customers drive under. Under the Road Traffic Regulations, regulation 19(3), the glass in a vehicle's windshield and side doors and windows must be transparent enough that it does not obscure a view of the vehicle's interior. Driving with glass that is obscured is an offense (Road Traffic Regulations). The Road Traffic Department's Highway Code lists a $75 fixed penalty for driving with windshield or windows that are not of transparent glass under regulation 19(3).
The official regulation is written as a visibility standard and does not give a specific percentage. Road traffic law in the Bahamas was also amended in 2024. Before you promise a customer a certain shade, check the current rules with the Road Traffic Department. This section is general information, not legal advice. During the course, we explain how to talk to customers about shade choices and legal limits.
Who Should Take This Course?

- Auto detailers, car dealers, and accessory shops that want to add tint as a service
- Self-taught tinters who want to fix their technique, speed up, and stop wasting film
- Anyone in Grand Bahama or the Family Islands who would rather take a short trip to Nassau than fly to the U.S. for training
