Why Train at Scorpion Films Headquarters?
Most window tint classes happen in a rented bay or a shop. This one happens at a window film company’s headquarters, which means you spend the weekend around professional film, tools and technology instead of just watching demonstrations. Tint Academy partners with Scorpion for the Indiana classes, and our Indianapolis registration announcement says students also have the opportunity to receive dealer pricing on Scorpion window film, plotters and software after training.
Two of our recent videos show what that looks like once class is over. The first explains one way new installers can buy Scorpion film to practice with, even without dealer access.
Video summary: In this 4-minute video, Tint Academy introduces the Scorpion Window Film Bargain Bin as a way for new window tint installers to buy film directly, whether you are practicing installs, starting a tint business, or testing the Scorpion brand without dealer access.
The second video covers the tool that Day 2 of the class introduces: the plotter.
Video summary: This 6-minute-39-second tutorial walks through setting up a window tint plotter wirelessly from A to Z, including connecting it to your computer, downloading Scorpion Scan software and finding vehicle window tint patterns.

Planning Your Trip to Cloverdale
Cloverdale sits in Putnam County at the crossroads of I-70 and US 231. According to the Town of Cloverdale, it is about 40 miles west of Indianapolis and 35 miles east of Terre Haute, and the town is right off Exit 41 on I-70. The town describes the drive from Indianapolis as about 45 minutes. A January weekend means winter weather is possible, so check road conditions before you leave and allow extra travel time.

Starting a Window Tint Business in Indiana
Many students take the class to start their own tint business or to add tint to a detailing, wrap or auto shop. If you plan to operate in Indiana, the state’s INBiz portal is the official place to check business name availability and register your business with the Secretary of State, and it also links to Department of Revenue tax registration. The Indiana Small Business Development Center is another free resource suggested by IN.gov. Talk with an accountant or attorney about what applies to you.
Know the tint law too. Under Indiana Code 9-19-19-4, the windshield (top strip above the AS-1 line only), side wings, front-door side windows and rear back window must allow at least 30% visible light transmission and have no more than 25% reflectance, with a medical exemption available. Read the full breakdown in our Indiana window tint school guide. This is general information, not legal advice.
